Abstract

The Integration of Value Engineering into the four stages of Quality Function Deployment would certainly enhance the visualization of decisions pertaining to a part (De-Twister assembly). A “De-Twister assembly” is one of the sub assemblies of Squeezer machine, was selected and the case study was carried out in the above concept. A detailed Value Engineering for De-Twister (43 subassemblies) parts was analyzed and integrated with Quality Function Deployment in order to improve the performance of the product with overall cost reduction in the de-twister subassembly. An attempt has been made in this paper to know the advantages of integration of Value Engineering with the four planning stages of Quality Function Deployment. This experience would be useful for the companies to continuously improve the product performance with cost effective based on customer requirements and to meet the challenges with the competitive firms in the global market.

Abstract

Software testing is an important part of software development life cycle. As part of automating testing process, automated test case generation is presented in this paper. Test case generation from design specifications has the advantage of generating test cases before software development cycle. In our approach, Evolutionary Genetic algorithm is used to generate all possible valid test cases for the software to be tested or developed. Data is obtained from UML design i.e., class diagram. A Novel method is proposed to form tree structure among class in design, based on their relationships. Depth First Searching (DFS) algorithm is used to generate test cases from the binary tree formed. All requirements of data mining concept implemented in very established way to produce optimal number test cases. A case study that is going to uses a simple, but extensively studied program is used to illustrate the approach.

Abstract

Software testing is an important phase that ensures the quality of the software. Where test cases are an important entity or criteria by which software is being evaluated. A test case is being generated by various approaches but by means of Modeling Languages attracts the recent researches and industrialists. This paper focus on test case generation by means of UML Class diagram. Novel method is proposed to form tree structure among class in design based on their relationships. From formed tree Genetic Two point Cross over is applied to obtain all possible new trees. Depth First Searching (DFS) algorithm is used to generate test cases from the binary tree formed. Problems in usage of certain techniques are identified. A case study that is going to uses a simple, but extensively studied program is used to illustrate our approach.

Abstract

Recent studies have shown that neglected conditions are common and can have dramatic consequences to the operations of a Software defects. Neglected conditions in software can compromise the accuracy of a software product or even cause global disruptions to the quality of a Product. Several solutions have been proposed. However, these solutions share a common limitation: they are based on rules which need to be known beforehand. Violations of these rules are deemed to the problem of detecting the neglected conditions. As policies typically differ among different software’s, these approaches are limited in the scope of mistakes they can detect. In this paper, we address the problem of detecting neglected conditions in software using data mining technique. We apply association rules mining to the program files of the software product across an administrative domain to discover local, software product-specific policies. Deviations from these local policies are potential for detecting the neglected conditions. In this evaluation, we focused on three aspects of the configurations: syntax, interfaces and function calls. Here the advanced data mining techniques is used to discover implicit conditional rules in a code base and to discover rule violations that indicate neglected conditions. More interestingly, our empirical study indicates that our approaches are able to discover ordering rules, which involve ordering of function calls, and the corresponding rule violations also.

Abstract

This paper attempts to analyze the performance of an industrial robot by comparing the solutions obtained using RK method and Single-Term Haar wavelet series (STHWS) method. The exact solution of the system of equations representing the arm model of a robot, has been compared with the corresponding discrete solution at different time intervals. The absolute error between the exact and discrete solutions has also been determined in order to suggest the method of improving the performance of a robot. The validation has been carried out with reference to the earlier research output appeared in this field of study.

Abstract

Aggregate Production Plan (APP), a managerial statement of time phased production rates, workforce levels and inventory investment, considers the customer's needs and capacity limitations. It should balance various objectives viz. maximizing customer service, minimizing inventory investment, maintenance of stability in workforce, production cost minimization and profit maximization. In this paper, an APP problem Is solved for optimality using a hybrid algorithm, that combines the procedures of two efficient meta heuristics Genetic Algorithms and Tabu Search.

Abstract

For any industry, it is mandatory to develop production plans to be executable for a moderate time duration, after the long range corporate decisions on planning strategies, with the reference of long-range forecasts, are developed. Management must work for this intermediate range plan also referred as aggregate production plan, consistently with the long-range policies and resources allocated by long-range decisions. Various essential factors viz., minimizing inventory investment and cost of manufacturing and maximizing profit and service to customers are to be achieved. In today's industrial manufacturing context, virtual planning of manufacturing systems finds the attention of global research activities which is due to their advantages in total elimination of wastages in man hours, materials, money, etc. Mathematical modeling and their simulations are realistic and widely accepted approaches to process various engineering problems Into expected final solutions. Metaheuristics are non-traditional approaches used to optimize various engineering and non-engineering problems. In this paper, an aggregate production-planning problem is modeled with the biologically inspired classical search procedure, Genetic Algorithms. The model is developed to simulate the above problem so as to arrive an effective solution. The implementation procedure is explained step by step and finally the results are analyzed using graphical analyzing software.

Abstract

Objective: The aim of the study is to analyse the effectiveness of PNF techniques and balance exercises in Parkinsonism.

Background: Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects neurophysiologic function, movement abilities and quality of life (QOL). It commonly presents with postural instability, hypokinesia, rigidity and tremor. These symptoms decreases physical activity (PA) and increases time spent in sedentary behaviours. This inturn leads to a cycle of poor balance, muscle weakness, fear of falling and a sedentary life style.The background of the study is to find out the effectiveness ofPNF techniques and balance exercises in Parkinsonism patients for the improvement of balance and improve the quality of life.

Materials and Method: Once the study is approved by institutional review board 30 patients both male and female were selected from clinically diagnosed parkinsonism. The study setting was in the Physiotherapy outpatient department of ACS Medical College and hospital, velappanchavadi, Chennai. The study includes patients with clear history of parkinsonism. Both male and female patients age group within 55-70 years. Subjects in the 1.5-3 HOEHN and YAHR stages. The study population excludes Dementia, Cardiovascular conditions, Musculoskeletal conditions, and subjects in the 4 & 5 stages of H & Y scale. The samples were fully explained about the benefits of participating in the study. They were asked to fill the consent form duly signed by the samples and therapist. Data regarding the balance were collected using berg balance scale and unified parkinsons’s disease rating scale.

Result: Result of this study shows that both the PNF techniques and balance exercises is effective in improving balance. However PNF techniques was better than balance exercises in improving the balance among parkinson’s diseased patients.

Introduction: Over the previous decade, musculoskeletal disorders have turned into a noteworthy ailment causing disability and expanded burden around the world. Abstract

Objectives: Objective of the study is to investigate the comparative effect of mulligan’s mobilization over stabilization exercise among nonspecific low back pain patients,to reduce the pain intensity, to improve the functional ability, endurance,strength of spinal extensor muscles,lumbar spinal mobility among nonspecific low back pain patients. Methodology: It is an Experimental study design which was done in Outpatient physiotherapy department, faculty of physiotherapy, Dr. MGR Educational & research institute and Abinaya physiotherapy clinics with the comparative pre and post type. 45 samples with Chronic Nonspecific Low Back Pain have been taken by Systematic Random Sampling method and allocated with 15 subjects in each group. The subjects in Group A (n=15) received Mulligan’s mobilization, the subjects in Group B (n=15) received Stabilization exercises and control group C (n=15). The study duration was 6 months (Base line with 3 follows up). Result: On comparing Mean values of Group A, Group B & Group C there is a significant difference in the Post test Mean values at 4^th week,12^th week & 24^th week but stabilization exercises (Group B) which has the Lower Mean value is effective than Mulligan MWM (Group A) and followed by conventional (Group C) at P ≤ 0.05.
